The Epiphany
Celestial · Crown of Discovery
T5d12Sovereign
A twelve-foot humanoid of perfectly transparent crystal through which the world is transformed-mundane objects reveal their hidden structures, mathematical patterns in flowers, geological histories in stones. Its voice sounds like the sharp intake of breath when something finally makes sense.

Passives
Crystal Form
Living crystal: immune to damage from non-magical weapons, which chime harmlessly off its facets.
Aura of Wonder
Within 120 ft the world becomes intensely interesting. A creature motivated by greed makes a Heart save (DC 19) or is dazed, fascinated by something mundane (save ends).
Maneuvers
Reveal Structure
Touches an object or surface, laying bare its hidden nature to all creatures within 30 ft: trap mechanisms, secret compartments, magical auras, structural weaknesses.
Declarations
Declared in the enemy tactical window and resolved at the start of its next turn. Any Vitality it loses first forces the disruption roll: on a 1 the telegraph is lost.
Moment of Understanding
Touches a willing creature and grants full, permanent, intuitive comprehension of one genuine question it has struggled with. The seeker must value the answer for its own sake, not for profit; it can settle proofs, unmask magic, or crack an impossible problem.
Reactions
Fragmentary Birth
When an attack deals the Epiphany damage past its Vigor, the shattered fragments become two Curiosity Wisps that act on the Epiphany's next turn.
Tactics
GM tactics
Opens with Aura of Wonder to neutralize greedy enemies. Uses Moment of Understanding to grant allies critical insight. Uses Reveal Structure to lay bare the weaknesses of direct threats. If badly damaged, Fragmentary Birth ensures its destruction creates new allies. The Epiphany renders Mammon irrelevant by demonstrating that the most valuable things cannot be owned.
Running it
Rules
- Shield of Tier + Heart mod over a Vitality pool of 10 + 4 x Tier. Full Vigor at combat start; at the start of its turn it rolls 5 exploding d4s and regains 1 Vigor per 4. Dead at 0 Vigor and 0 Vitality.
- A hit rolls d12. A crit rolls two: 2d12.
- Crits on a natural 14+ (Cunning 22).
- Two or three attacks in a normal turn: multiattack is the threat scaler, and one swing a round makes it a mook.
- Sovereign: 2 Sovereign Actions a round, spent after other combatants' turns, on top of its attacks.
- Any Vitality lost while a telegraph is pending forces its disruption roll; on a 1 the telegraph is lost.
- Never checks morale: it fights to 0 Vitality or to the exit written into its lowest phase.
- NPCs never take wounds.
